Snow White and Superman

Halloween, Trunk-or-treat, trick-or-treat, hayride...we were busy yesterday! The girl had trunk-or-treat at school yesterday morning. All the parents parked their cars in a circle around the parking lot, opened the trunks and we passed out candy to all the kids at school yesterday. It was a blast! If you know me, I am not a creative mom. I backed my car up and all the other trunks were decorated. Well, not mine. So, my friend Ashley let me borrow some decorations to decorate my car. The boy helped me pass out the candy. He was very generous, giving handfuls of candy to the kids. It was fun and he had a lot of fun passing out candy. He did grab a sucker when we first got there and it lasted him the whole time.

Last night we went on a hayride around Bentwood and went trick-or-treating. We stopped at a friend's house first and ate dinner. Actually, they are new friends...we just met them last night and actually, I thought we were just meeting up and then leaving to go trick-or-treat, but everyone brought stuff and we ate dinner. I think it was kinda thrown together at the last minute and my friend Amy called and told us to come! There were probably ten to twelve families there and all with little kids. It was a lot of fun! I wish I had known we were going to eat dinner and I would've brought something. O'well! We followed along in our golf cart because we weren't going to trick-or-treat for a long time and we weren't sure how long they would be. We ended up leaving a little early to go trick-or-treat at my grandmother's house and then to my parents' house. The girl and the boy had a good time. I'm really not sure why we trick-or-treat to get the candy that we will just throw away or put it in the bowl in Jim's office. I guess for the fun of it!
This was the first year we have been trick-or-treating. In the past, we have just passed out candy because the kids were just too little. The boy was still pretty young to do it this year, but since sister was doing it, he had to. Jim ended up carrying him to each house. There were so many kids in our group that he just stood back at watched. He's like his momma...just likes to watch people. I told Jim to just put him in the golf cart with me and he can just ride and watch, but he didn't want to; he wanted to be out where the action was! I don't blame him!
I didn't get any pictures of the hayride or anything we did last night. :( I don't know what I was thinking not taking my camera. Now that Halloween is over, my favorite time of the year begins! The thanksgiving holidays, holiday rush, Christmas shopping, excitement and a time to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior! I went to Walmart yesterday and the aisles are beginning to get crowded with ideas for Christmas gifts. And all those blow-up Santa Clauses, snowmen, and reindeer were up. The boy and I went to the garden section and admired the ornaments, stockings, and Christmas trees. I can't tell you how many times I've been to Hobby Lobby already just to look at Christmas stuff. The boy LOVES to go to "Ha-Lobby Christmastime". I think he might think that Christmas time is only at stores. I'm not sure how much he remembers from Christmas last year, but I am excited to show him that Christmas time will come to our house too! :) I am so excited.

I am so excited about the holidays too! Cam promised us a pink tree if Ellie was a girl (which she was hehe). So maybe this year we can go pink...

Love those color coordinated costumes!
