Peace is a Person

Today I am thankful for peace, the Prince of Peace, my Lord and Savior. I read a blog today; someone's blog, I don't know her, but she is a wonderful poet and I was very encouraged. Some days, I feel like I have no peace. My life and home spin - laundry, dishes, reading books, running errands, bills, phone calls, diapers, naps. Some days I crave quietness and rest; peace. I just want peace. If you want to be encouraged, read this blog about peace that I read today.

We cannot find peace on a map; it's not a place that we can create. Peace is a Person; the Prince of Peace. He is here. My favorite part of her blog was this:

"How to find Peace in the crush of motherhood? Peace may come fleetingly as a reviving, necessary place, but, like a fog burning off in the heat of the day, peace as a place will dissipate. For enduring Peace, look for a Person whispering the word softly to your anxious heart: Peace, peace, peace. Seek a Person, the very Lord of Peace, who is willing to give you his very own abiding, unwavering peace. "

He will never leave you nor forsake you. "Peace is a Person with whom we live."

Father, thank you for giving me peace in you, my Prince of Peace. My soul finds rest in you alone. You are my Peace. Let it fall on me.
