My arm...

is so sore! I got a flu shot today. Ouch! The actual shot itself did not hurt, but my deltoid is so sore. It aches all the way down to my elbow. I worked out right before I got the shot and so my arm muscles were already tired and aching and inflamed. I don't know if it was that or if it was just the shot, but man, it is so stinkin' sore. One of the hospitals was doing a flu shot clinic at a church here in town so I went and got one. I called Jim to see if he wanted to go with me, but he is sissified! When I called to ask him he said, "I don't know if I want to get one 'cuz I don't like shots." Well, neither do I, but it's better than getting the flu. He didn't go. I probably would've had to hold his hand. I don't like needles, but I can handle them if I don't look and keep my mind on something else (like today, an old man did a magic trick for me). I did ask if I could sit down when I got the shot and of course they let me. (I have to lay down when I get blood tests. I get light-headed.)

The week before Jim and I got married, he got really sick. He doesn't like to go to the doctor, but I made him go this time. I took him to a walk-in clinic and told the doctor that he had to get better because we were getting married and going to be flying out-of-state. The doctor decided to give him a steroid and antibiotic shot in his rear-end. He was freaking out! I had to stay in the room and hold his hand he was so scared. It was funny!

So, today I am thankful for the flu shot. I know you might think "What?"; but I am thankful for shots like this that benefit our health and keep us from getting very ill. I hate to be sick.

Have you gotten your flu shot yet?

The girl and the boy will get theirs at the pediatrician's office the weekend after this coming weekend during the flu shot clinic for his patients, but don't tell them. I will tell them when we are on our way so I won't have to listen to a bunch of whining.

Hope your arm is better this morning! Mine was only sore for a day! Oh my son-in-law...afraid of a shot! Maybe Anna can give one to him while he is sleeping some night. I remember well him being sick before your wedding! Afterwards, he really complained about those shots, too...but they did make him feel better! He's a mess...but I love him so much!

When I asked Paul if was going w/ me to one too, he said he'd gotten it last week at work. He didn't even complain, but I told him that I was banking on 2-3 days of whinning! BTW - Just wait for the 4yr check-up...Beth got 5 shots (incl her flu). OUCH!
