Today I am thankful that the girl had NO cavities!!! She went to the dentist today. It was the first time that she sat in the chair by herself. The last two times that we've been, she lays on top of me in the chair; me holding her. But today, I had the boy, so that was not an option. She did great and she didn't have ANY cavities. Thank goodness. We have been very good about brushing, flossing, "flouriding". The boy enjoyed watching. I did have Dr. Henson look at his back teeth because there was some discoloration. He poked on them (which really didn't bother the boy all that much) and they weren't soft; Dr. Henson didn't seem worried about them; "Just be sure to brush and floss real good," he said.
The girl was very brave. She wants to be a dentist when she grows up. She always says that and it doesn't ever change; which I find odd at that age. I remember changing what I wanted to be when I grew up all the time. (I still find myself thinking about what I'm going to do when my kids get in school...real estate, massage therapy, nurse, I don't know...we shall see.) Back to the girl...several months ago right after she got her ears pierced, we were riding along in the car and she said, "Mom, I don't think I want to be a dentist. I want to be an ear piercer girl." Shocked by the change, I replied, "Well, you know what? How about you can be an ear piercer girl while you are going to school to learn to be a dentist?" She said, "Umm, yeah, that's what I'll do." I asked WHERE she was going to be an "ear piercer girl" (hoping that it wouldn't be at some place like Electric Voodoo, or some crazy place...you know what I'm talking about); she said she would work at the mall. Whew! Good thing! I think the mall is safe; safer than some other piercing places...
Thank you, Lord, for no cavities! Now you can all pray that I don't have cavities when I go next week. My teeth are VERY prone to cavities and always have been. Jim's never had a cavity, I don't think. Jerk! I HATE the dentist. I'd rather go to the girl doctor than go to the dentist. UGH!

Bethy loves her dentist! If it makes you feel any better, last week she wanted to be a "Sonic drink bringer"! Guess I better lay off the Route 44's!
