Thankful for a Sovereign Lord

With the new president-elect headed for the White House in just a few short months, I'm thankful that we have a Sovereign Lord. He has appointed this man, and even though it is not who I think it should be, we are called to submit to the simple headship of the place of presidency. We must pray for God to direct his heart. God can use any president for his own purposes. We've got a big challenge ahead of us. We must not become bitter or angry or hang up political interest. We have a responsiblity to pray for our leaders. For those who have been praying for the weeks leading up to this election, our responsibility does not end now. In Luke 18, Jesus tells us that we should not lose heart, but to pray and continually go back to the Father and seek Him.

I believe that God is sovereign over all history and though I don't know why He has allowed this, it is still His purpose that will ultimately be accomplished.

"There is none like me, declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things not yet done, saying, 'My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all my purpose'"
(Isaiah 46:9-10).

Well said, Ash. Well said.

(It still kind of stings though.)
