Thankful for Food

Today I am thankful for food. I love food. It's something I look forward to around the holidays...all the yummy food.

But seriously, I truly am thankful for the blessing we have in food. Nutrition and health. Today in the mail, I received three magazines that all have recipes I want to try in them. I received a Taste of Home email with recipes. And to think that I have the money and the ability to make every single recipe in these books is a blessing. A blessing beyond what I will ever know. I also receive a magazine today from World Vision. It discusses the global food crisis that our world is in; and it really got me to thinking. Here I am browsing through these recipe magazines, trying to decide which recipe I want to try first. And here are all these starving and malnutritioned children and families that would give anything for a drink of clean water. Or a bowl of plain rice. I'm broken. I'm wealthy compared to them. I think of Brandon Heath's song, "Give me your eyes" and make it my prayer today.

Lord, Give me your eyes for just one second. Give me your eyes so I can see everything that I keep missing. Give me your love for humanity. Give me your arms for the broken-hearted; the ones that are far beyond my reach. Give me Your heart for the ones forgotten. Give me Your eyes so I can see. Yes, Lord.

Sooooo true! Remember the Guardiano family...living in their little house made from our crate...and not knowing where their next meal would come from? Each time I passed by their little house, I was reminded over and over that I had NOTHING to complain about!!! We have much for which to be grateful.

I love you...and I'll be praying for you tomorrow!

Yes. That is a GREAT song and a great prayer. We ARE truly blessed by our Creator.
P.S. I love your daily thanksgivings for November. What a great idea! My mother always told me that I could always find something to be happy about, and something to be thankful for every day.
