Yep, I am the proud new owner of a beautiful white Honda Odyssey van. (This isn't actually my van. I found the image on google, but it looks just like mine!) I am an official mom-mobile driver. I never in my wildest dreams thought that I would drive a van and drive it proudly. But they have come true! I. LOVE. IT. Seriously. Jim flew to Dallas yesterday afternoon and drove it home last night. He didn't get home until 1:00 this morning, and of course, I waited up to see it, so I'm about ready for bed tonight. Bless his heart, he was tired! The kids were just as excited to see it. They knew when they went to bed last night that he was on his way home in the NEW van!!! So this morning when they woke up, they came in and jumped on Jim and acted like it was Christmas morning. They were both so excited and both asked where the van was. They went to the garage and saw it and they both LOVE it as much as I do! It is SO easy to get them in and the extra room is so nice! I wanted to just drive it around all day today, but I had so much other stuff to do. I am very thankful and we feel blessed to have this new vehicle. Jim sold his truck and will drive my car. When we decided to do all this, it was when gas was really high, and we could save gas mileage on his truck, but now that gas is under $3 a gallon here, he might be second-guessing his decision. I'm pretty sure, though, that gas won't stay that cheap for long. Like that's cheap gas anyway...My mom and I were signed up for snacks tonight at Bible Study. So, I, of course, baked some goodies. I made pumpkin bread that is so yummy. And I made sugar cookies again. But this time I made little mini-ones and they turned out so cute! They were little acorns, red and yellow leaves, and pumpkins. I was so proud of them and they are SO yummy! :)
I am looking forward to this weekend. I am headed out of town for a women's retreat and I am so excited! Super-Dad will be here with the kids and they are SO excited for a special weekend with him. In fact, the girl asked me today, "When are you leaving for your retreat?" I told her day after tomorrow (Friday) and she said, "Oh man, I want you to leave today. 'Cuz we are gonna have special time with daddy and do fun things without you." Did that hurt my feelings? No, it didn't. Because I'm looking forward to having special time with the Lord and friends and do fun things without them (and that I can't to WITH them!). Pray for the Lord to do a work in every woman going.

I love your van! I know the extra space is so nice. I have had to get use to not having a car at all here in Singapore.
Those cookies look so good!
Yay for your mommy-mobile! You really got it :) And your cookies look fabulous. You have inspired me, maybe I will bake today. I usually love baking in the fall but I have been in a sort of funk about that so far this year. Have so much fun on your retreat this weekend. I will pray for God to move in a mighty way. Love you!
The mini-van club - - we are an exclusive bunch. Welcome!!! Wear your label proud. Wear it proud.
Congratulations. And enjoy your weekend.
What kind of icing did you use on your cookies??? I always use a buttercream, but what you used looks yummy! If you don't mind I would love the recipe. If you want you could email it to me at kim.maier.szpt@statefarm.com

*Where is your retreat?
Love the van Ash! Have a great retreat this year. Can't wait to hear about it. Tell your Mom hi for me.
Love your new van! I've always said I would never drive a mini-van either, but after having a baby I am definitely rethinking the whole idea!
And your cookies look so yummy!! You should post the recipe, and your recipe for the pumpkin bread. I remember having a piece last time we were in SA and it was delicious! :)
I am driving my 2nd Honda Odyssey, and I love it! Where did you buy in Dallas? We don't love the dealership here in town. My first Odyssey was silver, the one I'm driving now is black, and I think I'm going to get red next. Welcome to the club!
sweet ride!
and I love the picture of you and your husband on your header, it's amazing.
