Back at it again!

I'm back at the low-carb diet again! About 1 year and a half ago, I went on a low-carb diet for a few months. It definitely was the hardest thing I've done because I live on bread, rice, pasta, and crackers. But I felt so good and my tummy was totally flat. I didn't lose weight, but I lost inches around my waist and it was awesome! Well, to say the least, it's all back (around my waist) and it HAS TO GO!!! I'm sick of it! Low-carb dieting has other benefits than just weight or inch loss and I can attest to all of these since I've done it before.

  • Increased energy
  • Cravings for sweets gone or much less
  • Better mental concentration; no “brain fog”
  • Improved mood; emotions more even
  • ”Compulsive” or “emotional” eating gone
  • Fewer headaches
  • PMS improved
  • Gastrointestinal symptoms - less bloating

I have never felt as good as I did last time I did this. Of course, the first two weeks are always the hardest. And I just started yesterday. So I may be blogging about how I long for a handfull of mini-saltines or a piece of bread. Ah! It's sound good even now.

So, here I go!

That is basically the diet my doctor has me on and I saw all those changes in me as well. You do feel so much better on the low-carb diet. I'll be rooting for you these next 2 weeks!

Good for you! You can do it! Carbs are my biggest weakness so I feel your pain. I could eat my weight in bread.

About the pants - you are too sweet. $6 is a great deal! Since maternity sizes usually run S-M-L-XL, I would need either small or medium. Medium's probably safer because they'll be a tad bit longer. I do have problems with pants being too short, you remember correctly, but if there's a good amount of hem that could be let out then it would probably work. If you're back over there and they have a medium, I'll mail you a check to cover the pants and shipping. Even if they end up being too short, I could always make capri's out of them! Thanks for thinking of me - I can use all the clothes I can get these days :)

To what extent to do take this?!? NO CARBS whatsoever, or just very very limited. Are you only eating meat and veggies, or will you throw in a carb once a week so you don't go insane? I've reduced, but only to the point that I will only have one serving a day....so nothing drastic. I don't think I could go completely without.

I just found your blog recently and I've really enjoyed it.

Good luck! I tried Atkins a few years ago and while I lost weight, I never made it past the two weeks because I was soooo irritable. Oh well!

I have been on a low carb diet since January! I am usually a diet failure... I think I had joined Weight Watchers a bazillion times! This really works! I truly think sugar is like a drug!

Bear through the first 3 weeks then you will have it made! Try Natures Own Double Fiber bread (the 50 calorie a slice not 100) and La Banderita (I think) Extreme Fiber tortillas... on our low carb diet you can have these carbs because they say your body doesn't think bread it thinks green beans?!?

Anyway... it really has worked and I do feel so much better!

Hope it goes well!
