Then, just as we were getting ready to leave, we were in the kitchen visiting and the boy walks into the living room screaming bloody murder. Oh my, does it ever end?! Jim runs to him and picks him up. His nose was bleeding. The boy and Duncan #2 were running and diving onto the beanbag. I guess the beanbag kept scooting closer to bed and the boy dove and went head first, nose first actually, into the edge of the bed. Oh, it makes my eyes water even thinking about it. You know how it feels when you bump your nose. OUCH!!! Anyway, we finally got him calmed down. I called my sister's father-in-law who is an urgent care doctor at home to ask him how we know if it's broken. He said that usually kids that young don't break their noses because it is still mostly cartilage. He said to hold pressure on it for 8 minutes for the bleeding to clot, otherwise it would run down his throat into his stomach and make him sick. Well, he wouldn't let us hold it for 8 minutes, so of course I worried that he was going to throw up blood during the night. But he didn't, and he's fine. He did want a bandaid on it.
