Cherry Coke and A Hole in my Throat

Alright, I just have to share a couple of funny stories that have happened with my kids. The boy and I were running errands yesterday and I had his Bible Songs cd playing. The song, "Joshua fought the Battle of Jericho" came home. He began to sing at the top of his lungs: "Joshua fought the Battle of Cherry Coke, Cherry Coke, Cherry Coke..." I was cracking up! It was hilarious!!!
Now, I'm sitting here eating a bowl of soup. I make chicken noodle soup for the kids sometimes for lunch. They just like the noodles and carrots (sometimes), so I eat the chicken broth with some crackers. Premium Mini-Saltine crackers, to be exact. They are THE BEST!! Better than regular saltine. And to give a little background, I normally give my kids children forks and spoons just because they are smaller and easier to hold and they are less likely to make a mess with them. Today, however, they were all in the dishwasher so I just gave them a salad fork. Well, the girl comes in to tell me that she just poked a hole in her throat. I said, "What do you mean?"

"I accidentally put the fork down my throat and I think it poked a hole," she replied. I was dying laughing! :)

Jim cut the boy's hair last night. It looks adorable! And when I was bathing the girl, she said she wanted to cut her hair. So I did. Without Jim's permission. He was a little upset, but after it hit me that I actually cut my daughter's hair, I couldn't believe it and was a little upset with myself. But it looks adorable, although it does need some fixing up and straightening, she already has an appointment at the end of June. We shall see if I can wait that long. I love it short though. And Jim's over it. He said it was no biggie and something fun for her and me to do together. A memory made. :) Check out the haircuts. And don't judge. That is the first time I've cut hair, besides bangs. It's a little slanted, but you'll never see it on a galloping horse. And since the girl can't seem to stand or sit still, it will never be noticed. Just don't look too closely next time you see her. I still can't believe I did it.

Yes, I do realize that her left side is a little shorter than her right. But I was too scared to keep cutting. What am I supposed to do. Maybe I will just have to call Tracie, my hairdresser and confess. She will not be happy with me. Agh!

I got your question about the shirts :)
I think they are ladies cut and last year I got a medium but it was too big
This year I have ordered a small - I hope that helps :)
I can't wait to meet you in SA
Blessings

I cannot believe that you cut her hair!!! I would be too much of a chicken to do that! Jim's right though - you and her made a memory...you will both probably look back on it and laugh someday!

Way to go, brave one!

It's a much, much better thing that you didn't go "shorter" with the bangs (which I understand is called "fringe" now) like my dad did circa 1976. Every "slant" meant they kept getting shorter and shorter until they were about an inch and a half long.

Oh yeah, and it was the night before school pictures.

Ahem.

WHAT??? Everyone is commenting on your cutting the girl's hair and not on the CHERRY COKE! That is about the funniest thing my little grandbaby boy has said! He is PRECIOUS!

And the hair is cute too! Remember the haircut I gave Em (mushroom???) Thankfully, she was too young to remember!ha! I am anxious to hear what Tracey says when she sees the girl's hair!ha!

I laughed too at the cherry coke!!! So funny!!

The hair cut doesn't look bad. At least it still has some length on it.

Have a great weekend!

p.s. You kiddos are beautiful!!

Ash, Big Momma did my hair like that when I was 15 and began laughing and said, "it's ok. YOu just have to tilt your head to the side and it is even." I DID NOT THINK IT WAS FUNNY! Also, the saying of you'll never see it on a galloping horse....the next line is ....at midnight, right, Kristi?
