53rd Texas Game Warden Academy

My brother-in-law, Derek, graduated from the Game Warden Academy this past Friday. The ceremony was awesome and I could not be more proud to call him my brother-in-law. Don't think I'm sick when I say that he's the cutest Game Warden I've seen. Congratulations, Derek! I am so proud that you've accomplished your dream! I am sad that y'all are moving. We will miss you and Em!

Jim and the kids stayed here while I went to Austin for his graduation with my parents and Anna and Stephen. We decided last minute that the kids probably didn't need to go and so Jim was so nice to let me go. It would've been too quick of a trip for them. Here are some pictures!

Before the ceremony

Anna, me, and Em

The graduation was in the State Capitol in the room where they have State Legislature.

Em got to sit on the floor with him.

This was taken right after he got his badge pinned on. Gov. Rick Perry was the keynote speaker.

Being sworn in...

During the keynote speaker, Gov. Rick Perry mentioned a lot about family and this picture was taken during that. How sweet!

Derek and Stephen, Anna's hubby

Mom and Dad - they celebrated their 34th anniversary today.

I am so glad they lve each other! And I'm so proud to call them my mom and dad!

Stephen and Anna - no, Stephen isn't that short, nor is Anna that tall; she's standing on a concrete step.

At Pappasitos after graduation.
And I have to say that yesterday was my Mom's birthday (yes, the day before their anniversary). I told the waiter and he brought out a big mexican hat and sang really loud and gave her a HUGE sopapilla with three different kinds of dipping sauce. We were all stuffed so we all shared it. And I have two GREAT pictures but she made me promise that I wouldn't post them on here. So, I guess I have to respect my mother.

Great post...and it is even better because you minded me...and DIDN'T post the pictures of me in that monstrous sombrero!ha! The pictures you took of Derek's graduation are great. What a special time! You're such a good "oldest" sister!!

I hate to see Em and Derek move, but I can't wait to see all that the Lord has in store for them on the next part of their journey!

I love all the pictures! I think that blue shirt is the same style as that red one that I wore to that western thing. Doesn't it look like it? Miss you friend!
