A good friend of mine got married this weekend. I sang "I Will Be Here". The ceremony was absolutely beautiful. They did a Holy Sand Ceremony instead of the unity candle. It was the first time I had seen this done. There were three vases set up on a podium at the front just like the unity candle would be. On Lauren's side in a vase there was red sand. On Keith's side, there was white sand. When the mothers walked in, they each poured sand into the middle vase separately so it was layered. Then during the ceremony, Keith and Lauren both poured sand in individually, symbolizing them as a person, then poured the rest in together at the same time so that it mixed symbolizing their unity. Just as you can't separate the sand, man cannot separate a marriage. It was really neat. The reception was great fun some a dance and great music! It was a fun weekend!
Lauren and me at a brunch the morning of the wedding.
Before the ceremony
Walking in - she was a beautiful bride.
Isn't her dress pretty? I loved it! It was the first one she tried on!

Doing some dance called Cotton-Eyed Joe
I had NO idea what I was doing. I'd never done it before! It was a great wedding and I am so happy for them! They will make a great married couple! I love you guys!!!
My sister, Erin and her kids (including the new baby!) are here this week, so I will have more pictures to post I'm sure by the end of the week. The new baby is such a cutie pie and I can't believe how big brother has grown!
And I've recently noticed how most of my blog posts are just pictures. I'm sorry. But I am just not a good writer. I always have so much to say, but I just can't put it all into words very well. I'll start trying to write more.

Thanks for visiting the Johnson Chronicles. We appreciate being in your prayers. I love the description on your blog about the sand ceremony at the wedding. It's amazing how creative some people are. I love the analogy.
