So we decided to try to build our own sandcastle...it was a lot of fun, but it didn't turn out as pretty at the one that was already there. Jim blames it on not having the right tools. My bet is he's right, because he's really good at this kind of stuff! We just had a $5 sand toys kit from WalMart.

Then we dug a hole and Cullen sat in it. We started burying his legs and he didn't really like that too much and started crying!
The kids got some snacks out of the bag and the birds immediately flocked to us. So the kids started throwing their teddy grahams and cheez-its to the birds. It was amazing to watch them just hover over us and catch a piece mid-air! The kids loved it!

After I wrote names in the sand, the girl started writing everyone's name in the sand. All my family's and Jim's family's names were written in the sand by her. This was the first of what she wrote!
We left the beach around noon and went back to the hotel to swim at the pool. After swimming for a while, I went up to the room and made some mac 'n' cheese for the kids and a peanut butter sandwich for Jim and I and we all ate by the pool. Then we went in and showered and packed up for a late check-out at 2:00. As soon as we got in the car to head back to Corpus, the kids crashed. They were so tired. They have been so good on this trip. We are so blessed with some great kids!
