Corpus Christi/Port Aransas, Day One

WARNING: Lots of pictures!!!

We are having a blast on our family vacation so far! We arrived in Corpus Christi today around 11:15. Jim had a meeting downtown, so the kids and I dropped him off and drove over a really, really high bridge to play on the Corpus Christi Beach.
Mom, don't look at this and don't read the caption below it.

I snapped this shot with my camera while we were driving down the bridge. It was SO high! That is the USS Lexington.

Once we got on the beach. We mainly just played in the sand and waded in the water.

The girl testing out the water. This is the first time they've seen the ocean.

And they LOVEd playing in the sand, of course.

We picked Daddy up around 2:45 and drove to Port Aransas. We took the ferry. That was a really wierd feeling with our van on the ferry and everything.
When we got to Port A, we checked into our hotel and the kids wanted to swim in the pool, of course! So we swam for a while, then decided to go down to the beach and check it out. It's just about three blocks from out hotel.
Here's my hot hubby and a good daddy burying the boy's legs in the sand.

The kids were a little scared to go out into the waves so Jim had to carry them!

After playing at the beach, we came back and washed up and headed to dinner. We ate a Fin's. Jim and I shared the grilled mahi-mahi and shrimp combo with an extra shrimp skewer. It was delicious!!! The mahi-mahi was so fresh and so, so good. We both raved over it! The shrimp was pretty good, too! The kids had mac 'n' cheese and carrot sticks. Haha! The boy did try my fish and loved it. He ended up eating about a quarter of our piece of fish. He loved it! The girl wouldn't even try it though. She was complaining about the smell.
After dinner, we went back to the beach to take some pictures. I think they turned out really good!

More tomorrow...
