John 14:18

After I received the Proverbs 31 devotional for today via email (you can subscribe for it here), I visited the author's blog, Rachel Olsen. As I was browsing through her blog, I noticed a verse that she had posted on one of her recent posts. She was dealing with grief on that day, and I think a lot of us have dealt with grief the past few weeks. My grief hasn't been grief of someone I know personally, but I am helping carry the burden of those that I do not know that have suffered so much. Here is the verse:

"I will not leave you comfortless; I will come to you." John 14:18 (KJV)
Isn't that comforting? I'm sure I've read this before, but it struck a different and beautiful chord in me this morning. He will not leave us comfortless. He means it when He says 'I will come to you.'
Thank you, Lord, for your Holy Spirit that longs to comfort us in our suffering. We trust in your promise that joy comes in the morning; that your grace will be sufficient and your power will be made perfect in our weakness.
"God’s way is perfect. All the Lord’s promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to him for protection." 2 Samuel 22:31

Thank you for sharing this!!! I have heard bits of Proverbs 31 Ministries on the radio, but today I subscribe to their daily devotional. Thank you for posting the link. Today's devotional uses a verse that impacted me greatly right after our loss in February.

I LOVE GOD!!!
