Nothing out of the Ordinary...

has been going on around here. Nothing real exciting. And so I've had nothing to blog about. Hence the Reminiscing post! Ha! So, I thought I might just get on here and see what comes to mind.

First of all, the Lord has shown me his greatness. I have all of a sudden realized how long it has been since any of us have been sick. Praise God! It seemed like in the fall and winter, somebody was sick. Not Jim, because he NEVER gets sick, but either me or one of the kids, or both of them. I am SO thankful. And let me just tell you that I dread my kids being sick. They are not terribly whiny and are "great sick kids" if there is such a thing, but I just worry about them. Especially when they have the stomach bug. Seriously, that is something that I get so freaked out about. If I'm around someone that says their stomach has been bothering them, I bring out the Purell. I am a germ-a-phobe anyway, but when someone's got that kind of bug, oh my word! When the girl complains of her tummy hurting (and it's usually because she is hungry-she's always hungry), the first thing that comes out of my mouth is, "Do you feel like you need to throw up?" And when she says no, I thank God. Every time. Because I hate to throw up and I hate to clean up throw up. Okay, enough of the disgusting stuff. Ugh!

Also, I started taking allergy shots and it is crazy how much they help! My allergies are not the itchy, watery eyes, but I get terrible sinus headaches. And before I started taking the shots, I would get a sinus headache everyday. I found myself taking Advil Sinus every day, and I knew that couldn't be healthy. So I went to an ENT and he recommended allergy testing. I am allergic to everything. All pollens, grasses, and molds. No food though. But dogs, cats, housedust, and cockroach. No wonder I had a headache every day! :) I am so glad they are under control. And thanks to my sister, Anna, who is an RN and gives me my shot every week! They burn like crazy but it's so worth it!

Secondly, I have been reading some great blogs lately. One is Confessions of a CF Husband. This family is a miracle. Trisha has cystic fibrosis and just received a lung transplant and is doing very well, praise God! Their story is amazing. She was pregnant when she got really sick and was put on a ventilator several months ago. They ended up having to take the baby by C-section at around, don't quote me, but I think 21-24 weeks. Gwyneth was a micro-preemie, but is thriving and growing and is now in a step-down unit. God is truly a miracle-worker. Nate, the husband and dad, hopes to bring his girls home sometime in May. Continue to pray for God's hand in all of this.

Another is Bring the Rain. You may have heard of the group Selah. They are three VERY talented singers. One of them, Todd, is married to Angie and they have the sweetest family. Their fourth little girl, while still in the womb, was diagnosed with some severe health problems and was not expected to live after her birth. My heart has just broken for this family. Audrey Caroline was taken by C-section a little over a week ago and lived for about 2 hours. The family got to hold her and sing to her and pray over her. Angie and Todd have given God glory through the whole pregnancy and birth, and even through the grief that they are experiencing now. Praise God that He overcame death and Audrey Caroline is now in Heaven with a perfect little body, waiting on her mommy and daddy. Angie has written some beautiful blog posts over at her blog, so be sure to visit her and keep them in your prayers.

Boulware Blog is about a cute little couple. She is pregnant with twin girls, but they are on their way! She's been in the hospital for about the last week with high blood pressure. Her state today is such that the doctor wants to take them. So pray for them! How exciting! Her husband William has been in Iraq, but got an emergency leave when Kerry had to go into the hospital. Praise God that he is safe and home with Kerry. Actually, not home, because as soon as he arrived in the States, he met Kerry at the hospital. So they haven't been at home together, but will be soon, hopefully! :)

A Cosmic Dance has found a cool "Scrapblog" website when can make the neatest headers for your blog! My new header was handmade by my very smart and very sweet hubby, but you can make your own that that website. I played around with it and it was pretty neat!

Kelly's Korner. She is the cutest thing! I love reading her blog posts. And pray for her because they are trying to get pregnant. I can tell from her blogs that she longs to be a mommy, and I know she would make a great one! Her and her hubby are going to Hawaii in a few weeks and I am so jealous!

Surviving Life's Curveballs is a new blog for the family who you all prayed for a while back when they lost their three month old baby, Lilly. She was a beautiful little girl, but I bet her and Audrey Caroline are playing in Heaven now. God's plans are not our own, but I trust that He has a plan for Richard and Jennifer. Continue to pray for them as they try to move on.

Enjoy reading blogs! I just love it. I wish I could meet all these people! I'll be back soon...if I can think up something to blog about. :)

I feel your pain on the throw up thing. I seriously freak out. I can hear about someone puking on the other side of the world and I am convinced that my family will catch the bug, too. Ick!!! I love the Anti-bacterial hand stuff. And bleach. And...

Tee hee hee!!!

Germ-a-phobes unite!
