A Day with Friends

***UPDATE: Abby has posted a blog about our day together with some of her pictures. Be sure to visit her blog.
Yesterday, I got to spend the day with a great friend of mine, Abby. We have known each other for a while. She used to help out with the youth at our church when I was a senior in highschool. I went to her wedding, which was very fun I might add, and she came to mine. She now has two beautiful and adorable little girls that are about the same age at my children. It's funny because when we first met when I was in youth group, our lives were totally different and we were in two different stages of life; she was in college and I was in highschool. However, now, we are in the same stage with a preschooler and a toddler and just being a mommy. We had a blast just sitting around her house yesterday chit-chatting and laughing at our kids playing together. My girl and her girl (both 4 1/2) hit it off from the time we walked in the door. They talked and played non-stop. It was like they had known each other forever. The boy played right alongside them. And Boerger Girl #2 wandered in and out of the playing. She is teething, so she was a little cranky, but SO sweet. She wanted me over Abby. She sat in my lap and almost fell asleep at one point. I, of course, loved it! :)

Abby and I enjoyed visiting, talking pretty much about anything you can think of...it was so much fun catching up with her. We hadn't seen them since one of our friends got married in June 2004, I think. Is that right, Abb? Is that what we decided? We laughed so hard, too. It was great!

Boerger Girl #2 - this picture totallys shows her personality...precious!

Boerger Girl #1 picking flowers

Just for her mommy (and Abby...I just remembered you left those special flowers out on the table...you are terrble. You are supposed to put those in a vase and save them. They are some rare ones, you know...

Aren't they the cutest things?!

We loaded up in the Dodge Caravan to go see the Longhorns at the Ft. Worth Stockyards!

I LOVE this picture.

I didn't know this could be so much fun!

This is what Abby and I did. We weren't in any of the pictures because we were the only adults around so we took a picture of each other taking a picture! :)

This was a hard picture to get all their faces, all looking, and all smiling. The boy and Boerger Girl #2's faces are cut off, but it's still a cute one.
The kids had so much fun together; well, Abby and I did too. It was a great day that must be repeated soon! Love you Abby and thank you so much for hanging out!

I have several comments (go figure!)...
1) Yes, it was a FAB time!
2) Yes, Lou was cranky. It is kind of you to point out that you out-ranked me!
3) Yes, it has been that long (2004-thanks to Voss's wedding)
4) Yes, the girls make some sassy bags. Bethy took hers to school today and wore the visor!
5) Yes, I am a terrible mommy for not adding her bouquet to the hundreds of others she has picked :)
6) I know you're jealous of my minivan!
7) Did you have to use the WIDE angle taking the shot of me taking pictures?????
8) There is apparently no limit to how long comments can be :)
9) Our time was so precious and I love you dearly. I praise God for crossing our paths together again and can't wait to see what He does with us. He is so good to bless my life with your friendship!
