My mom, the kids, and I went to see my baby sister and her family in Oklahoma this past weekend. We left Thursday afternoon after mom got out of school and drove to Wichita Falls and spent the night in a hotel. Then Friday morning, we got up and drove the rest of the way to Oklahoma City. We had a great time seeing them and visiting them. We miss them SO much and my nephew is just the cutest thing you've ever seen. He is so precious! He will turn 2 next month. I just can't believe it!
Play-doh...their favorite.
On Friday, we went to an indoor gym and let the kids play. They had a blast!
The boy having a blast!
The boy could not get enough loving from his cousin. They loved on each other the entire weekend. It was so sweet! When we were at church on Sunday, the boy and his cousin were walking around in the atrium and they just turned and hugged each other. Everyone around thought it was so sweet. We did, too!
The girl and Lola
My nephew
The girl's fave...the slide
My nephew loved it, too. This was the way he went down.
My sister almost four months along! She's gorgeous!
The kids and Uncle Chaz and Aunt Erin
After church on Sunday...aren't they cute?!
The girl got some special time with her Uncle Chaz. They made strawberry cupcakes with pink icing and sprinkles. Let me tell you some of the stories from the weekend. When we got to the hotel Thursday night, I told the kids we would get a snack. So we went to the vending machine and I got them some M&M cookies. When we got back to the room and I had talked to Jim, the girl wanted to talk to him. When Jim asked her what she was doing, she said, "We just got back from the food theater." Isn't that funny? I'm not sure where she came up with "food theater" but that's what it was to her in her little mind. Mom and I cracked up!
When we got to Erin's house, the kids walked right in and began playing with their cousin. They played up until the minute we left. I had to stop them from running just to get their shoes on so we could leave. They had a blast and it will be a trip they will talk about for a while. My nephew thought the girl was SO funny. He laughed at everything she did. Even her eating. It was hilarious! He loved for her to chase him. They would be playing and he would randomly come up to her and say, "(the girl) get you." And they would all three run in circles around the island in the kitchen. I can't tell you how many times they ran around that thing, but they wore themselves out. They were all exhausted come bedtime each night.
At one point while Erin and I had run an errand, my nephew was sitting on the couch with the boy. My nephew said, "I hug you. I kiss you." They hugged and kissed. Then my nephew said, "I hold you." And the boy crawled up into his cousin's lap and sat there. The boy is older than his cousin, but they are the same size. Just precious!
Erin has done such a good job raising her son, my nephew. She is expecting another baby at the end of June. We can't wait to find out whether it's a boy or a girl. I'm hoping for a girl, but I'll be happy with another boy. We shall see! :) My nephew loves for his momma to read to him. He has a favorite page in every book and he always leans into the book and says, "I get in there." He wants to get into the picture of the book. Isn't that sweet? I already miss them so much. I am so proud of my sister, let me just tell you. She is so young, but is so mature and has done a wonderful job as a wife and mother. She is a godly young woman and even though she is my baby sister, I look up to her for that. The Lord has done a mighty work in her life and I praise Him for what He has brought her through and for who she is today!
Coming home on Monday was a long trip! We made pretty good timing, but it was a long time in the car. The boy was crying at one point calling for me. I finally just had to ignore him. After the girl got tired of listening to him cry, she finally told me that he needed me. I told her I knew that, but I couldn't hold him. She asked, "Do I ignore him?" And I said yes. She sighed, and in a 'whatever' tone of voice said, "Alright." It was so funny. They did great on the trip. I was proud of them.
All in all, we had a wonderful time and are glad to be home safely.

Yay- you added the commenting tool back! I loved this post. Erin looks precious carrying Baby #2! I loved the pictures of the kiddo's and the stories. Collin read your blog before I did (I guess yesterday at work or something) and last night he said to me, "Ashley has the cutest kids. Seriously." It was sweet! And true :) Glad you got to go see Erin and family. I know you miss them, and vise-versa. Love you!
So glad you got to have a girls' weekend and see Erin. She looks beautiful (and so grown up - don't think I've seen her since she was in high school!)
these are so cute. mine loves play doh. She is so into making her mo-men. snow man. She cracks me up over it. Also, when we go to any play area the child will not take her shoes off to play like you are supposed to. She will scream shoes shoes and get all dramatic with it. I love the food theater! LOL!
