I found this in the Sunday paper and thought it would be good to use as a blog:
Ten Questions for 2007:
1. What was the hardest thing you had to do this year? There are two things that were hard. In January, my baby sister moved to Oklahoma. She was the first one of us four girls to move away and it was VERY hard on all of us. In May, my grandfather passed away. He had been ill for several months, in and out of the hospital. He died peacefully in my parents' home just two days after being placed on Hospice. He was my first grandparent to pass away and it was very difficult. No one close to me has passed away so this was really hard.
2. What was the most fun? Jim and I went to Dallas/Ft.Worth for a few days. He had to go for a meeting and so I went along. Since it was summer, my mom kept the kids. I had a GREAT time. We stayed, I think, three nights at the Westin near the airport. Jim gave me money and I shopped and shopped and shopped. The first day we were there, he just dropped me off at Northeast Mall while he went to his meeting and I shopped ALL day ALL BY MYSELF!!! I could spend as much or as little time in a store as I desired and I even ate lunch all my myself! It was so much fun! I don't know that Jim would remember this trip as fun (especially since he was working), but it was a ton of fun. We ate at Pei Wei's two nights in a row while we were there.
3. What were the milestones? Jim and I celebrated our 6 year anniversary, my grandfather passing away, my friend that I've known since 4th grade, Staceyann, got married, my nephew was born, and the girl started pre-kindergarten.
4. What was your biggest accomplishment? This may sound silly, but I took a trip by myself with the kids to Ft. Stockton to see my grandparents. I've NEVER traveled by myself. We made it safe and sound, to and from.
5. What's something you wanted to do, but didn't? I wanted to go visit my sister in Oklahoma, but that's a really long way to drive by myself.
6. What was your biggest surprise? That our beach at our resort in Mexico was not the picture-perfect beach I was expecting. I know, it's not a fun surprise. And the money Jim gave me for Christmas! That's a fun surprise! :)
7. What was the meanest thing you did? I told Jim that I might be pregnant. He was really worried for several days. The visitor arrived just a few days late. He was very relieved.
8. What was something you worried about that you don't worry about now? I worried about my grandfather up until the time he passed away. Now I can't worry about him because he is with Jesus.
9. What made you proud? My husband, who is the most amazing husband, father, businessman, and athlete; and my children, who are something.
10. Finally, describe a moment you want to remember. I want to remember the legacy that my grandfather left behind. I want to leave a legacy of faith and love. I want to be a blessing for life.
