A Homegoing

We got news this evening of a wonderful, lifelong friend who has gone on to her eternal home in Heaven. Kathy Lindley was the nurse that helped my mom deliver all my sisters and me when we were born, she was one of my mother's best friends, and a funny and caring lady all around. And most importantly, she loved the Lord. She has four beautiful daughters of her own. I think that's why my mom and her were friends. Her girls are older than my sisters and me, but not by much. I cannot even fathom the emotions they are going through, the grief they are having to overcome, and the sadness and shock of it all. Please lift her husband, Wayne, and his daughters and their families up to our Father. I am still in shock and concerned for them, so please pray.

Lord, I lift these families up to you now. They have lost their wife and mother. Someone so close to their hearts. There are no words to even begin to bring comfort to them at this sad time. It is only You, and Your Holy Spirit that can give them they comfort that they need. Lord, we trust that you are holding Kathy safe in your arms and that you will also tenderly hold her family, lovingly comfort them, and faithfully walk with them every step of the way. I pray that Your arms would wrap around them and protect them with the peace that passes understanding, surround them with Your mercy that's new every morning, and embrace them with Your love that knows no end. Amen.
