Alive with a Random Post

I realize that it has been a while since I've posted. Sorry I worried you, Abby! :) First of all, my laptop broke. The boy pushed it off the couch (yes, I keep my laptop in the living room on the couch) and it landed on the back where it plugs in. It wouldn't make good connection (something broke) so then the battery died and we had no way of charging it. It is not fixable. Jim took the hard drive out and had a friend take off everything that was on it and put it onto a DVD. We now have a temporary computer until Jim's laptop from work comes up on its lease and we can buy it. I was SO thankful that they were able to get everything off the hard drive. Especially all the pictures!

Here are some the precious pictures I'm talking about. The girl and the boy sleep together at night and the boy always wants to hold the girl's hands. She doesn't always do it willingly, but if she doesn't hold his hand, he cries and says, "I want (the girl to) hold my hand." It's precious. When I went in to check on them the other night before getting in bed myself, I saw this and I had to get a picture and freeze the moment for just a while. I will treasure these forever. And notice how their eyes are cracked? Jim and I both sleep like that. Isn't that funny? And psycho?

Something funny that the girl said tonight: We were walking across the street from the new house to the house we are currently still living in. She looked up and saw the stars. I told her that God had a name for each star. Then she asked, "Are there lots of Jesuses?" I said, "No, there is only one Jesus." She proceeded to say, "Well, how come we have lots of Chirstmases?" I busted out laughing, it was hilarious! Then she started laughing. I explained to her that Christmas is a time we celebrate His birthday, just like we celebrate her birthday every year and there is only one of her.
I wanted to show you a picture of the boy that my sister-in-law took of him on Christmas Day when we were with them. Check out his hair! We got a good laugh out of this one!

I kept my nephew today. His daddy came into town to trade in his truck and his mama teaches in Ft. Stockton. He was SO good and is just the cutest thing you ever saw. Here is a picture of him smiling at me! :)

And another picture of him chewing his hands. I figured out today that this is one of his favorite hobbies.

Sunday was the first Sunday that we had been in church in two weeks. The Sunday before Christmas, I went to church with my parents in Sonora. My dad is the music minister there. The Sunday before New Years, the boy and I were both under the weather. After not being in my home church for two weeks, I was a mess on Sunday. I must be honest with you and myself, I have not been good about having a quite time with the Lord. So I was feeling empty and lonely. Those of you who have a walk with the Lord know what I am talking about. Just that dried up feeling. I cried through the whole service. People probably thought something was terribly wrong. But come to think of it, something was terribly wrong. I had strayed from my walk with the Lord. It may not seem so severe to some of you, but it is very severe to me. I struggle with finding the time alone to pray and read the Word. I want to know my Jesus better. You remember how I got Beth Moore's Study, Jesus, the One and Only for Christmas? My mom gave it to me. I started it at the first of the new year. Well, the sermon series that our pastor is preaching now is called "Jesus said". He said on Sunday that we need to get to know our Jesus better and what He said in His Word. I don't call that coincidence. I call that an act of God. Jesus wants me to know Him better. He wants all of us to know Him better. And if you don't know Him and want to receive Him as your Savior, contact me or a local Bible-believing church. He longs to be your Savior. Won't you receive Him?
