Run for Cover...

...because it's bullets! (I copied the title from my friend and photographer, Jenny. No, I'm not that creative. Yes, I thought it was hysterical when she came up with the title. So, yes, I'm copying her.)

  • I just put the kids down for bed. The boy wanted me to sing a song to him. He requested Jingle Bells. The girl wanted me to sing her a song. Actually, no, the boy wanted me to go sing sister a song and of course, she obliged. She requested "the flag song". So I sang The Star Spangled Banner. Haha!
  • My workout this morning was AWESOME! I worked out with a friend of mine whose daughter is in the girl's class at school. She's started doing some of Jillian Michael's (from The Biggest Loser - have I told you that I LOVE that show?) circuits and holy cow, I feel great! Jillian's big thing is to keep your heartrate up the entire time. So while you do shoulder presses, you do jumping jacks with them. Or while you do side raises, you do lunges. And if you feel your heartrate coming down between sets, you are supposed to sprint, or do something to get your heartrate back up. It is crazy, but so great! It was such a good feeling when I finished. I am so buying some of her workout DVD's and one of her books. I want her body.
  • I'm going to buy a MIO heartrate and calorie tracker watch. My friend that I worked out with has one and in one workout like we did this morning, she burns almost 600 calories. I think it's neat that she's able to track that, so I'm going to get one so I can track my own calories burned!
  • My sister, Erin, and their family made it! They are here to live! Hurray! I went up with the kids last week to OKC to help her do some of the last bit of packing. Jim was gone to Scottsdale, AZ for a sales meeting. Then she and the kids came back with me on Friday. Then her husband Chaz loaded up the trailer and came home Saturday night. Well, it was supposed to be Saturday, but it ended up being Sunday. Go read her blog for the story. Then read this: Jim and our brother-in-law, Stephen ended up driving to Abilene and pulling Doug's truck AND the trailer behind him to here. Yes, it was a mess. But they are here, all their belongings are in storage, and they are trying to get settled. Pray for a job for Chaz.
  • Jim and I are headed out of town on Friday morning for a day and night together! I am REALLY excited about getting away with him! :) Jim is going to play golf in the afternoon, while I am treated to an 80 minute full body massage and laying out by the pool! I am soooo looking forward to it. The kids are staying here with my awesome, wonderful, ever-loving, sacrificial sister Erin and my fantastic, grand, marvelous mother and father! (Thanks, y'all!)
  • We had some much needed rain during the night last night. It was so nice to wake up early this morning and hear the rain and thunder outside my window. I loved it! And I think we got close to a couple of inches. We did, however, have an extra little body in our bed the entire night, though. :) It's alright, though; I love snuggling with my boy.
  • The girl has her cap and gown pictures on Friday for Kindergarten graduation. Oh. My. Word. Is she really almost finished with Kindergarten? Good grief, it just seems like yesterday that I was here.
  • I have lately been obsessed with My Charming Kids and all that's been going on with Stellan. And praise God he was discharged today and they are headed home tomorrow! That poor baby has been through so much in the last 5 weeks! And poor MckMama has also been through so much, but I'm so thankful she knows the Lord and has been completely relying on Him to get through all of it! I don't know how people who don't know Jesus make through the trials in life!
  • A great friend of mine, Terri, was diagnosed with breast cancer a couple of weeks ago. She was my cooperating teacher when I was student teaching and we just clicked and became good friends. She is having surgery on Thursday and will then do radiation. Would you please say a pray for her and her family? I am so proud of the way she has handled it all. She is such a strong person and is staying positive. She is just considering it simply an obstacle in her journery through life and she's going to get past it and will be stronger for it. She's vowed to wear pink every day until she is cured to show she's a survivor. Is that not awesome?!
  • Okay, that's a lot of bullets! Hope you're not hurtin' too bad! :) Have a good week!

Wow, Ashley - your workouts sound intense! Good for you for motivating to do all that. I try to swim and do yoga regularly but sometimes it is so hard to motivate...

And congrats to Erin and you guys on the move!

Enjoy your time alone with the hubby :)
