Haircuts and a Prayer

The girl got her hair cut today and we cut bangs...aren't they cute?! My friend Stephanie cut bangs on two of her little girls and I thought they were SO cute! Jim finally decided we could do it and so we did! I love it. They really make her look different.

I wanted to share with you something about the girl that is very special to me. Lately, when she prays, she begins the prayer with "Dear Father". This means more to me now than it would've a year ago. I did a Kay Arthur Bible study called Lord, Teach Me to Pray. It was an excellent study on "The Lord's Prayer". Jesus gave his disciples the perfect pattern for prayer in Matthew 6:9-13. He tells us to pray "Our Father". You often hear people pray, "Dear Jesus" or "Jesus"; yet we should direct our prayers to the Father. Yes, we come in the name of Jesus, for He is the One who gives us access to God through His death, burial, and resurrection; but it is all to bring us ultimately to the Father. "Our Father who art in Heaven". Knowing this makes my prayers mean so much more because I come in the name of Jesus to my Heavenly Father. And when the girl prays, she prays to her Heavenly Father.

Now on a less serious note, the boy also got his hair trimmed today and he wanted his picture taken too, so here he is. What a sweet one! :)

Before I scrolled down (I was looking at the carving post), I thought "she hasn't always had bangs has she???" Then, here's the proof that I'm not crazy! Adorable!
