Seems like Thanksgiving around here...

Well, December is almost over, but it kinda seems like Thanksgiving around here. Our small tree we planted in the spring in front of my kitchen window has finally changed colors and is just as brilliant as the tree that I blogged about across the street. Their tree has already lost all its leaves and they are all in OUR yard! Shin-deep! There are TONS of them. But the leaves on my tree are hanging on and are just beautiful. The science teacher at the school where my mom teaches told her an interesting fact that I didn't know. The fall colors of leaves are actually the leaves' true colors. In the spring and summer, the chlorophyll takes over and makes them green. Isn't that interesting? I thought so! I just wish their true colors remained year-round.

Jim's truck was parked across the street this morning because we have just bought the house across the street (not the one with the trees, but their neighbor). That's another story in and of itself that I will explain in another blog. Maybe tomorrow. Anyway, I looked out to see if he was across the street and back from running his errands and lo, and behold, a turkey walking in the street. I called the girl and the boy to the window and we all stood and watched. Then he jumped up onto Jim's toolbox on his truck and stood there a while. He also relieved himself of his breakfast on Jim's toolbox, too! HAHA! Then he hopped off and walked away. Crazy, I know! We have deer in our neighborhood, but I've never seen a turkey. Enjoy the pictures!
